So Isabel is now 6 weeks old. I can not believe how fast time has gone. She is a pretty good girl and brings me so much joy. Sure she fusses and quite possible could be spoiled already, but I dont care. She is my last and I will not let any moment pass me by with out enjoying it. Yes, even the crying. She is finally sleeping in her bassinet, when I put her there that is. Im quite fond of co sleeping these days and love having her in bed with me. She is a snuggler unlike any of my other kids were. It was a struggle figuring out how and where she wanted to sleep the first 5 weeks. She would only sleep for about 15-20 minutes at a time during the day and that was laying her on the couch. If we put her in her bed she would wake up in a matter of minutes. Last Sunday we were hanging out and I layed her down on the couch, on her side, up against the back. I was sitting there on my computer and looked over and somehow the little turd had wiggled onto her tummy. She layed there and slept for 3 hours. So the rest of the day that is where I put her, on her belly. Yeah yeah, no need for public service announcements, I know "they" tell you not to but all my other kids slept that way, I slept that way...its a miracle any of us survived. So anyway, she now sleeps 5 hours at a time at night, if I could get her to go to bed a little later it would be perfect.
we took her in a couple weeks ago for her 4 week check up. She weighed in at 9 pounds 6 ounces and 20 inches long. Which put her in the 65 percentile. The doctor said she is doing great, and that he is happy with her weight gain. He told me that we can start giving her cereal if she starts to eat too much, but to hold off as long as possible. I thought that we were going to have to start that becuase she was oinking out several days this week. Turns out she just didnt like the formula that we were giving her. We decided to use up the powder samples that I got in the mail, and she could tell that it wasnt what she had been eating. The days that she had that, she was eating 5 ounces every 2 hours, Holy shit, I know! The thing is she would fight us and fight us and not eat very well. I ended up going to the store at 10 one night to buy her normal kind and amazingly she went right back to her normal schedule immediately. Poor girl just knows what she likes!
Uhmmm what else. She is smiling and cooing when we talk to her now. Her looks change so often that I cant even compare her to the other kids. When she was born she looked just like Emma. Now she looks like Emma, but is fat like Abram was. Brad and his sister thinks she looks like my mom. I just think she looks like a cute fat little toad.
